Global warming is the most pronounced in the northern latitutes. Yet Anchorage and most of Alaska is experiencing their coldest summer on record.

Not here...we are having an abnormally hot summer, and our spring was abnormally warm as well. In fact, for the first time since records were kept, we had overnight lows that did not fall out of the 80's in May.

Again, global warming does not mean it being 89 instead of 87. The warming has to do with the disruption of ocean currents and the alterations to weather patterns that it brings. I'm not saying that we're on the brink of disaster here, but it's extremely arrogant not to think we're contributing negatively to the environment.

I read somewhere a few weeks back that 2007 was the coldest year globally in more than 40 years. Makes one wonder. I've also started hearing the new lingo "Gobal Climate CHANGE"........all encompassing, so those making tons of money scaring people won't loose their income if the "warm up" turns out to be a farse.

I have noticed that "scientists" are starting to use climate change over global warming. I wonder why....

Now, if we can just figure out a time horizon to try and solve this crisis.

The weather cycles and that's very normal. We've actually been in a time of low extremes over the last 200 years and that is unusual. Perhaps we're going back to normal?
Also did you ever wonder why the Vikings called Greenland "green"? or that the Romans grew a lot wine grapes in England? Obviously it's been warmer then what it is now in the past.
Yes humans have been impacting certain things in nature but it's very unclear yet if we're really having any effect on the weather.

I love when people post about subjects they know nothing about and use silly examples that don't mean anything. Holy crap, it was only in the 60's in Iowa today! That proves it, those scientists don't know anything, they just want to steal our tax dollars with their conspiracies! Since when did hating against all the global warming evidence become the new cool thing?
