I need some immediate auto service in Ankeny. I've heard Tim's Amoco (or is it BP?) mentioned several different times as being a reputable place. Is this the place to go in Ankeny???

Sorry for the threads up. I have a 2001 Cyclone with 27K miles on it. Today, when driving at 60 mph on an interstate the engine simply stopped and the 'service engine soon' sign came up. I pulled over to the shoulder, turned the keys off and tried starting the car again. The engine did not switch on despite several attempts.
After about 15 minutes, I tried again and the engine took off. I could drive the car at about 60 mph but felt an unusal drag/effort in having to drive at that speed. I drove for about 6 miles and the engine died again. Again, I couldn't start it immediately but could start it after a 10-minute break. After this episode repeated itself 3-4 times, I reached home. I just filled gas a couple of days ago so lack of fuel can be ruled out. Whenever the engine starts, it doesn't make any unsusual sounds. The car lights/AC etc are fine. I don't think the the car is over heated becasue the temperature level on the panel is normal. I have been servicing it regularly and the car is not due for the next service until it hits 29000 miles. Any idea what might be wrong with the car? looking for reputable auto shop also...
Hey look, another 2+ year old thread that Vince has bumped up. So, Vince.....what make is your 2001 Cyclone? I've been looking for one but haven't been able to find any in the color I want.

Well Buell made a cyclone MOTORCYCLE in 2001, but I know he can't be talking about that.
Although, I thought he had a 2004 cyclone---
I hope you don't mind asking this question. but first of all i would like to say sorry for the late response. im also concern with my cyclone 2004 and i want this car to last for five years. Is the cost $250 a DIY or a repair service...?

from another thread...
"Good day guys! I'm here again but first of all i apologize for the disturbance. I'm here for a reason. It just happened that i encountered a road accident but not that horrible compare to the scenarios you've seen on movies. I happened that my timing belt for cyclone 06 was affected and was damaged. Anyone here has the idea on how to replace a timing belt? Just checked for some manuals but i couldn't search the precise answer. Hope to get an answer here. Thanks in advance! "
so he has a 2001, 2004, and 2006 Cyclone?? Vincent seems to be resurrecting all the auto repair threads. He has 17 posts and all are in auto threads...most of them resurrecting ones that have had no activity in 2+ years.
Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas.
Is Ankeny Motors still around? One time they REALLY helped me out of a jam when I had a breakdown on a cold day. I haven't lived in the area for over 14 years though.
