Updated story confirms this. Thankfully no one was reported injured in the second shooting. Officers, please blow this guy away.

Re: Murder in Ames
Why don't we have a description of this gunman? Height? Weight? Race? Clothing?
-
Re: Murder in Ames
Description: male with gun being followed by lots of cops. He should stand out.

Re: Murder in Ames
I have got my scanner going. I'll post any new details.

Re: Murder in Ames
They are calling out the Nevada PD Chief along with a crime scene photographer.

Re: Murder in Ames
Sounds like the crime scene is near the ethanol plant on Old Highway 30 near Nevada. There is a report of a fire there as well.

Re: Murder in Ames
sounds like he shot himself now
This is my sarcasm pirate. There are many like it but this one is mine. -

Hunt says police later spotted the suspect riding a bicycle on old Lincoln Highway near Nevada. When a law officer tried to stop the suspect, a gun battle broke out in front of the ethanol plant. The suspect then got away in the officer's squad car. The Iowa State Patrol and other law officers began chasing the suspect at high speeds eastbound on Highway 30 east of Nevada.
Wow, that is straight out of GTA. -

This is crazy. I wonder if they'll release any identities tonight...

Hopefully whoever the officer is who had their car stolen is alright. The fact that his car was stolen leads me to believe he's not. My prayers go out to all involved

What I'm curious about is how he got the cop car. It would make sense to leave your keys in the car if you're worried that you might have to hop in quickly to pursue a suspect. Wouldn't it make more sense for police vehicles to all have those starters like Maximas/Altimas have now, where you have to have the key in your pocket and then push a button before the car starts?
