DTV HR10-250 Receiver

You guys seem to be in the know, can I use this receiver as a standalone HD receiver for OTA programming? I do not have DTV subscription, but simply want to watch and record OTA down the road. I do have an antenna available.

Nope, it would work, but there will be no way to get the guide data. You can use it to record manually though, but it would be a pain.

Yeah that should work. It will complain at you that you do not have a DTV dish hooked up to it, but just bypass that setup screen and it should work.
