It is the only way to get local programming in HD other than subscribing to cable.

If you could give your product away, or make money selling it, which would you rather do? Especially when whomever you were giving it away to really needs it. It's all about convenience for DISH customers. Why does DISH or DirecTV or Cable even offer local channels, when you can get them over the air for free? The Kansas game last year, for one. As ISUFan22 said, it's not inconceivable that we could get at least one game on ABC this year, especially after we start 10-0 and host Missouri on Nov. 15th.
Worth a shot. It COULD happen, but DirecTV has a long history of not letting that happen. ESPNU and the NFL Network are two examples of this. I can't ever remember any station being pulled from DirecTV.

Re: DISH Network drops WOI...
Stupid question here, and slightly off topic, but somebody mentioned that Direct tv has better hd programming.
In six months, won't this be a moot point?

Re: DISH Network drops WOI...
digital versus analog signal broadcast.
HD can only happen in a digital broadcast... but SD can go either way.

I'm in the yellow zone here in Des Moines, anyone have a recommendation on what indoor HD antenna? All the mult-directional ones I am finding look kinda big, I don't want an outdoor one or one I have to put up in the attic.

I tried a whole bunch of different antennas, from indoor, to outdoor, terk, powered... the whole gambit.
I settled on an outdoor multi element UHF antenna that cost $20.
