I'm pretty sure Christopher Nolan has said that he will not make a movie with the Penguin in it. Supposedly that is not a direction that he is interested in exploring.

Re: Some More Batman Rumors
Hoffmann had been rumored to play the Penguin in the Dark Knight. I'm glad they didn't throw him in there just for the sake of a cameo. That's a quick way to ruin a comic book movie. (see X-Men 3)
Either Angelina Jolie or Kate Beckinsale would make great Catwomen. Angelina has already made her intentions known to the producers that she wants the role.

I've heard they are going to pick ventriloquist and scarface as a villian

Re: Some More Batman Rumors
was the league of shadows a bad guy from the comics?
If not maybe they will dream up new baddie.
Spoiler alert.....
There is no concrete proof two face could not return.
To me they will never let anyone else (at least in this franchise) play joker. What actor would want to and how could they hope to even equal his performance. Posted via Mobile Device -

Other options include Killer Croc and Mad Hatter. Also, it is not impossible to do a dark Mr. Freeze. The animated series episode that introduced the character won an Emmy, I believe.

Before I say this, I have said all along Ledger is irreplaceable and Nolan won't have anyone assume that role.
BUT, on the same line of people who did voices from the animated series, how hilarious would it be to see Luke Skywalker playing the Joker?
All I can think of is his role as Cockknocker from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back -
Re: Some More Batman Rumors
It will be interesting. The character would have to fit into Nolan's 'real world' view of the franchise.

Re: Some More Batman Rumors
Yeah, bring back Mr. Freeze since that worked out so well last time. Heh, or not.
I thought the Joker was about as campy as it could get so if they can do a good job with that they can do a good job with anybody although I'd kind of like to see somebody that hasn't been in a movie yet.

All I can think of is his role as Cockknocker from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back You know, if memory serves, Mark Hamill was rumored to be in the running for the role. He had a great Joker laugh... but it probably did not belong in Nolan's universe.
Also..."Don't F with a Jedi Master."

Re: Some More Batman Rumors
with the way this series is going with the current director and theme, I can't see Johnny Depp, or Jolie as villains. They are not dark enough.

Before Heath Ledger performed the role as Joker, what in his career would lead you to believe that he was dark enough to play that creepy of a Joker role to a T? I can't think of anything...

Re: Some More Batman Rumors
The joker could remain a villian in the third installment...I could see him being an "off screen" role running things from the assylum, while introducing a new villian.
