we dominated the rest of the game.. even with them 'focusing' on defense for 86 minutes.

If we dominated the game and did not score a goal then as an Iowa State Cyclone fan. We dominated the 80's and 90's in football. I will now look at the Jim Walden and Jim Cryner era's in a totally different light. THose dudes could coach.

we dominated and didn't score.. we lost. period. end of story. but to say we are not that good (first post) is ridiculous. **** happens, that is why they play the game. **** happened and the US womens team lost.

I guess I don't understand soccer enough to know how to dominate without scoring. The whole point of the game is to score.

I'm not a soccer (football) expert by any means, but do watch the big matches. I have seen games where one team physically is dominating the match, i.e. getting downfield with ease, taking more shots, dictating tempo. But due to some factor, like a great opposing goalie, or just bad luck on shots, they don't score. It leaves the door open for the other team to get a last minute goal and win the thing.

Not sure if that is what happened in the women's match, but it is possible.

For more information on how to lose a game that you dominated, so thus you didn't actually lose the game, even though you lost on the scoreboard...... please consult with your local hawk fan.
