I have to go with Kerri Strug, too. I was still couple of months from being born when the Miracle on Ice happened, and I'm apparently one of the few people who didn't see the 400 relay as it happened (and I still haven't seen it all the way through). So Kerri Strug it is.

Do yourself a favor, watch it. Even though you know the outcome you still need to see it.

I don't think that something can be memorable it you actually didn't see it. If that's the case D-Day is memorable to me. It doesn't matter that it happend 27 years before I was born.
I watched it on tape delay, but did not know what happened. But when I was a kid I played hockey, so any game on TV was a big deal to me.

I feel the same way about Rocky IV.

That's a 180 from "If he dies, he dies."

Well of course - we all know that Rocky IV was what caused the Iron Curtain to crumble...

Did not see it live because I was playing in a HS bball game. Found out about it on the way home and couldn't wait to see hightlights. Which, of course, they showed over and over again.

It's got to be the miracle on ice. Sure, beating the Frenchies was nice, but we will never have a moment like that again. I just don't see Al-Queda putting together any decent sports team to compete against us, except maybe the biathalon.
