I would like to see a real race on like ESPN that would be awesome.

His schtick is certainly working for him...and he is laughing all the way to the bank. Just take a look at all the endorsement deals this guy has relative to a much more accomplished receiver in Marvin Harrison (I chose him for comparison because they play in similar markets and in the same region of the country).

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
Re: Ocho Cinco - "I can beat Phelps"
It would be dumb if he said he could beat Tyson Gay. That would seem real. However he is talking about Phelps and so it's funny. He talked about how he was teh swimming champ in his area which is funny.
I like the guy. He entertains me. What's wrong with someone who entertains.

In that same interview he was talking trash about carson palmer and saying how he could beat him up. He was just saying that because carson was sitting right by him just out of view of the camera and then carson came in and put chad in a choke hold. Now someone can write an article about how chad threatened carson and carson assaulted him. What is being said has been taken way out of context. You're right, sarcasm doesn't come out well in print. I did not see the interview, so I had no idea his attitude and tone.

He was joking around the whole time having fun with it. the interview was hilarious.

I know he's kidding when he says that stuff, but it's just getting old. Everytime he does an interview you know he's going to say something outrageous, so the gimmick is wearing off for me.
His touchdown celebrations on the other hand, now THAT was entertainment. I'm sure he offended a lot of the traditional football fans by "disgracing the game," but it was very entertaining for me. Too bad the NFL put an end to it.

I've learned that you can't believe much on tv or what you read about people. Things are always creatively edited and taken out of context to make things more interesting. That is why I don't really care for reality tv; there is very little of it that is reality. People are perceived in the manner in which the media wants you to see things.
Your perception of a person from media, good or bad may, be completely opposite from what you may think if you met them in real life.

I personally like Chad and his antics, it keeps football interesting. It also looks like he had more than one good year also. ESPN - Chad Johnson Stats, News, Photos - Cincinnati Bengals
