I can't imagine the FCC is anywhere near ready for another change that requires yet another converter box for OTA broadcasts. The cable and satellite guys can do whatever they want as long as their business can justify it.
Agreed, however, until they do change the standard, or open up more than 6mhz bandwidth, there will be no 1080p OTA, and if there's no 1080p OTA, there will likely be no 1080p from most mainstream providers either.
