You're going to upset a lot of people with that thread title...
I just got done watching it. I am glad she came back with at least 1 gold so people would never say this olympics were a failure for her. 1 gold and 3 silvers is pretty good!
Where were you able to watch it? Online?
nice work... way to use the old noggin there with that title.
I think they are going to kick her out of Valley for only coming back with 1 gold.
Thanks, I am lookng forward to watching it, was it tense?
Well I guess the DM Register can stay in business now that their paparazzi like coverage of her has been backed up in the form of a Gold medal. I'm fully expecting a special-edition golden paper for tomorrow's edition:wink:
All joking aside, it's good that she was able to get 4 medals, including the Gold. Impressive.
Hey hos - why don't you track down monkeybrow while you're out there - it's been ages since I've heard from him (just assuming with every single Union Jack avatar that he's ever had that he's from out there...)
A little "tub thumping" is in order here... I get knocked down, but I get up again, you ain't never gonna keep me down...
I know it's "only" athletics, but I'm proud of her and I'm proud she's from Des Moines. She showed courage and resilience.
They reported it on Headline News also. Guess those who want to watch tape delay to find out stuff should wear earplugs and blinders. Personally, knowing that she wins Gold would want to make me watch it all the more. Sorry if I spoiled it for some. Thanks to the Mods who fixed it.
its all over the internet this morning, way to go shawn!
What time does Lolo go?
I don't know if you guys are joking or not, but I think that Shawn J getting this gold medal is a HUGE deal. Not just for her, but for all of central Iowa. Now, she'll probably never have to work a day in her life. She will just be able to sit back and RAKE in the endorsement money. For Iowa, imagine all the publicity it will bring to our great state. I'm sure that the top gymnastics coaches in the world will descend about Iowa looking for the next Shawn Johnson. Will the find her? Probably not. But will the find a wonder place to live, great people, earthy aromas, and great food. DEFINITELY. Congrats Shawn.
