Cats are worthless

I favor dogs over cats.

I've never figured out the attraction to cats. Other than catching mice I don't know what value cats have.

Dogs on the other hand will protect people, assist the handicapped, work for law enforcement, herd sheep and cattle, and can pull you on a sled.

Definitely agree, living on a farm my entire life taught me the real uses for cats were as follows:
1.) catching things like mice / rats
2.) replaceable training fodder for our purebred Blue Heeler pups

The old dog on my Grandparents farm caught more mice than I 've ever seen a cat catch. He would just sniff 'em out.

The perks of owning a cat are that they're pretty low maintenance compared to dogs. They definitely appeal to the kind of people that have a lazier lifestyle or are frequently busy during the day. If raised correctly, they're pretty loyal companions that often find things to do on their own.

I personally prefer owning a dog over a cat, if only because I like feeling like I'm raising a pet rather than co-existing with one... but cats do have their merits.

I have both a cat and a dog. They both have their pros and cons.

you forgot about how they can kill people. in my line of work, i have dogs trying to attack me every day

Wow, that was completely out of nowhere. What a strange topic to just start for no reason other to say you like dogs better than cats.

I grew up with a cat and a dog. I ended up favoring cats.

I really despise dog owners who take their pets to petco. I don't pity the owners when they are standing outside in -10 degree weather waiting for their dog to take a dump. I get angry when I am in an apartment and a dog is yelping next door at 5am because someone walked by. One of my ex girlfriends had a large dog and her apartment stunk all the time. The dog, itself, is a stinky animal compared to the cat. Yes a house with cats can stink too if the owner doesn't scoop poop everyday, etc.

Moot point: look at lolcats then look at loldogs. Loldogs are just embarassing and of a lower quality.

I expect to get blasted for this.
