I would turn the music up too loud. Then when my mom said turn that down your going to go deaf. I would laugh.
I would probably take my family on a one month vacation. Going to every rock concert I could. Listening to old Cyclone games with Pete Taylor and every CD. I own.

Wouldn't work. Damage to the 8th nerve can't be remedied currently.
I'm also not so sure I would want a cochlear implant after a life of normal hearing, unless verbal communication was essential.

Besides all of the sentimental stuff, I would probably spend about two weeks in a big city and go to every club / live music event that I possibly could. I would miss dance clubs a lot...

Would act like I am coming home from work for hours on end just to hear the excited voices of my girls when I come through the door. You can have a totally crappy day at work and hear that and bad attitude goes by by.
Don't think I would have time to hear any music because all I would want to hear is the sounds of voices from my wife, three girls and close family. If it ever got to be too much, I would pick highlights like Seneca Wallace and "THE RUN" and replay the audio to that.
That would suck though to only have one month to hear.

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada? |

Knowing my luck, the last song I would hear would be Walking on Sunshine or something by ABBA. And if any of you ask what's wrong with that, I will find you and beat you on principle alone.

My docs told me when I was 27 that I would be blind by the time I was 30. After spending three days in bed feeling sorry for myself, I picked myself up and restarted my life - and looked into every alternative treatment I could find.
In the end, I meditated. Call me a flake and call it a coincidence, I don't care. But the progression of the disease stopped. I lost half the vision in my left eye and have continuing problems with my right. But I can see.
I coached little league, basketball, and soccer. I got involved with my kids and my wife. I found the things in life that pleasured me most (some of which I can't mention here) and I pursued them. I finished my college degree and embarked on a career that I felt I could make a difference with.
21 years later, I can still see and I have the cherished memories of the things I did because of the "impending sentence" I was given. If you guys are going to take a lesson out of this story - it's not about what you would do if you thought you were going to lose something - it's what you do while you have everything. Live now like something is going to disappear.
Because someday, something will disappear and you don't want to live with that many regrets. Hell, even after what I went through I have many regrets, but I think the fear of the loss I was facing has allowed me to have a more rewarding life.
In the end, go for it. You truly do have everything to lose - but you also have everything to gain. Focus on the gains.
