Honda not floundering in sales.

Honda and the Herd - MSN Autos

I find their philosophy very interesting. It seems to work for them and may be a wake up to other auto manufacturers.

I have to admit, Im one of those people who was wishing for the V6's and V8's, but my eyes have been opened. Sure I would like to have them still, but with the cost of gas, I am a little more relaxed being happy with what I have.

I also never knew about their plants.

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

I knew there was some reason I didn't want to buy a Honda, Friggin Canadians! Damn hosers!

I wonder what the ratio of engineers to lawyers is in Japan..probably better than here.

I've been saying it for a long time. They are miles ahead of everyone IMO with their product mix. Toyota is becoming more and more like the Big 3. Honda has about 10 vehicles and nearly all of them are near or at the top of their game. They are also great a niche vehicles. Vehicles like the Ridgeline bring in a whole different type of buyer into the pickup market. They know that the Big 3 make some great trucks so they tried something different. I'm not as impressed with their Acura division which is kind of lame at the moment.

I hate to say it but I've been slightly disappointed with my Odyssey's build quality.

As corny as this sounds, it's not about gas prices for me. Driving a gas guzzler is simply ignorant these days. They need to understand that by driving one of those guzzling trucks, they are financing BOTH sides of the Iraq war.

Here in SoCal, Honda has been one of the best selling car brand for a while. It's time for the rest of the country to follow Californians.

Living in California is ignorant because of the amount of time spent in traffic, thus using more gas and financing BOTH sides of the Iraq war.

Canadians and Californians, two reasons we will all eventually burn

I'm quite sure Honda is lamenting discontinuing the Accord Hybrid. Outside of that, a fabuluous company.

Cool Re: Honda not floundering in sales.

I absolutely love my 2005 Honda Accord. And my wife loves her Toyota Highlander. It will be hard (impossible maybe) for GM to get us back.

I doubt that they are lamenting it at all. It was a poor seller, and according to Honda, their existing hybrid technology is suited to smaller cars. They just need to get their clean diesel Accord over here. The i-DTEC is supposed to be coming to Acura in 2009.

There isn't anything in Honda's line that I would consider. I'm a 4 x 4 truck guy and the Ridgeline's light duty design doesn't meet my needs.

For a passenger vehicle I'm sold on Subaru.

I get tired of know it all hybrid drivers that tell me how my Vette is a gas guzzler or how I'm killing the environment. I get 32 mpg on the interstate.

If SoCal is leading the charge on what to do with cars I'm going to buy a huge Suburban to make sure I do the opposite. I'd bet I use less gas getting to/from work with a Suburban in Ames than a hybrid driver in SoCal.

Thats exactly how I feel about Toyota. I have loved Toyotas as well, but now they have that American car company approach. Put out as many models as you can with all the bells and whistles.

I leased Acura 3.2 TLs from 2000-2003 and 2003-2006. Without a doubt, it was the finest car that I have ever driven long term. Very well made, well featured, and dependable. And the Acura dealer actually gave hoot about me as a customer. Unfortunately, the 2006 TL got a huge price increase in addition to its new look, and it went out of my budget.

I'd be in an Accord diesel right now if they sold it here...
