Wii - how the heck

I must be way behind and missed something. I finally decided to get the dam a Wii so I head out to Target and then gamestop. Why is this thing still so hard to find? It's been out for like 2 yrs.

It is what it is dude. Just don't try to find Mario Kart with it, I have friends that have been looking since it was released.

We got one for Christmas since the wife and kids were interested.

One word: overhyped.

I'm gonna pick up a PS3 next spring which will be come our de facto Blu-ray player.

Re: Wii - how the heck

A friend mentioned that Walmart sometimes gets a shipment of Wii's on Tuesday. I needed some plastic spoons so I went there and decided to check out their electronics section. One of the clerks was actually stocking a wii into the display case and I immediately told him that I want it. I told him I would be back in a couple of minutes because I had some other shopping to do. When I came back he was going to pull another one out of the stock room but ended up just selling me the one that was on display.

Ever since I first played Mario Kart on the Wii a couple months ago I've been on the prowl, but my interest has somewhat subsided. Lots of good 360 games left to play...

The Wii has reached a demographic not typically interested in video games: the elderly. Because the game involves movement of the participant, it has been purchased by many nursing homes as a way to provide light exercise for their residents.

Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it).

Re: Wii - how the heck

My wife bought one online, and it took just a couple of weeks to get. Most stores get them in periodically and sell them first come, first serve. Pick a store and find out when their shipment comes in. The Wii is cool, but a little overhyped. I still wouldn't trade it for my 360, but there are some cool game options for it.

Re: Wii - how the heck

Go to Best Buys in WDM on Sunday morning. They usually get a shipment of 45. We bought ours about a month ago and found it there when nobody else had one. They will give you a slip of paper that you can redeem at the customer service counter.

We got there about 2 hrs after they opened and got #35 out of 45.

As much as I hate to make Sony money, hold off long enough for the newly announced 160GB system.

I was told that due to the strength of the Euro versus the dollar much of the production is being sent to Europe instead of the USA. I have foud some at Walmart on a Tuesday morning though.

Re: Wii - how the heck

I dont think the wii was overhyped at all. I just think hardcore gamers expected it to do what it wasnt meant for. Its a great companion system to the other two. I am patiently awaiting the next Zelda. Its why I buy nintendo products.

Re: Wii - how the heck

I actually am looking to sell mine. I just bought it like a month ago or so. I have mario kart, wii fit, sonic and mario at the olympics, sonic zero gravity riders, wii sports and wii play. I am a teacher/coach and have literally no time at all. Sorry, not trying to take an ad out, just saw some people were looking to buy one. I looked forever before I finally got my wii and mario kart/wii fit. If anyone is interested, you can send me a pm. Not at all looking to screw anyone or make a profit at all. Just don't have time for it...
