Knight Rider

Anybody watch this the other night? I just watched it on my DVR, hence the reason I didn't bring it up until now...

It was god awful. I guess I don't know what I should have expected after that crappy TV movie last spring, but I thought I had read that they had different writers and producers for the series than they had for the movie. If that's true, it didn't help at all. I won't be watching again. I'd be amazed if this show makes it past mid-season.

Dang. I've got it on DVR and will probably watch it, but I was hoping for more because Knight Rider was my favorite show as a kid, and I thought the movie last spring was ok. I guess that's what they get for switching to a Mustang.

That is the only thing the show has going for it.

I love mustangs but it just does not look right being the Knight Rider car.

I watched about 1/2 of it... Terrible show!! Only thing that made it worthwhile was the chic who was forced to undress before they nearly burned to death.

Please. I don't want to turn this into a Ford/Chevy debate and get it moved to the political cave (kidding) but KITT is a Trans-****ing-Am and making him a Mustang is blasphemy.

I'm pretty sure the Hoff did show up at the end of the 2 hour movie last spring, so I just assumed he would still be in it.

Back in the 80's a talking car was a rather far fetched idea. Now, it is a reality. doesn't make for a great show.
And when we have cars that change into walking, talking robots, then Transformers will lose it's appeal as well.

Ok, I'm glad you added that Transformers part so I can tell you're kidding

Cars with pre-recorded voice prompts and speech software in GPS units have nothing on William Daniels, I mean KITT, who could actually carry on a conversation. Not to mention a molecular bondage shell, turbo boost, super pursuit mode, and all those other cool buttons. Oh, and I think it drove itself, but that's not impressive anymore either, thanks to Lexus.

Not really because Ford/Chevy arguments usually encompass the entire vehicle families i.e. Ford-Lincoln-Mercury vs. GM. Thanks for assuming I'm stupid though.

Ok, I've forced myself through 2.25 episodes, and midway through the third episode, KITT got blasted by a rocket off a beach in Mexico, and landed in the ocean. Mike and some girl were in KITT underwater and I stopped it before they (I assume) transformed to "submarine mode" and drove off. I deleted the episode from my DVR, deleted the next week's episode that I had saved, and cancelled the planned recording of this week's episode (I was a little behind). I am very, very disappointed that this sucks so much, I loved Knight Rider so much as a kid I was really hoping this would be worth watching. But it's not, so for the next couple weeks (until the show gets cancelled) Knight Rider will catch my eye every time I am looking through my guide, and I will skip right past it. Shame on you, whoever is responsible for this absolute crap.

Just a note for those complaining about the "new" Knight Rider.

Dudes. The original "Knight Rider" series WAS some of the worst TV ever made. Period.

The fact that you were 12 might've influenced your judgement, but Knight Rider blew then, and it probably blows just as much now, and you're developed the ability to tell that it's crap.

Back to your regular programming...
