This is how I interpreted it. There simply ARE more black people in GA. I guess I'm just giving this guy the benefit of the doubt.

I'm curious, how much do some of these youth football leagues cost? Are there any programs in place to allow some of the underprivelidged kids to play? I say this because on my way home from work I drive by what looks to 4-6 graders practicing every day. Every single one of them is white and there is plenty of diversity around the area I live with some low income housing near by. Most of the time there are 8-10 kids standing around watching the practices, all african american...

i am missing something. by the sound of your interpretation, it appears he is asking the question because he thinks Black players are faster/better. if so, isn't that a compliment?

I think the WDSMLPYFL is $160 ($180 for 7th grade). I don't know what the Catholic League or the Little All American leagues cost.

But yes, it's rather long.

My issue with it is he quickly equated speed/good athlete to kids being black. Just not a fan of it - at all.

Any idea about programs to help with the costs and transportation for low income families?

The Boys and Girls club in Gainesville had great programs for football when I was growing up. It really helped to set a foundation for kids and keep them out of trouble later in life...

kind of seems like athletes other than black athletes should be the ones that are upset at that guy's statement.

When does it get to a point where you can't even compliment abilities w/o it being misconstrued?

BTW, when posters on here talk about the need for Chizik to "get players from Texas and Florida," do you suppose they're referring at all to white players?
