I used to know a guy in Fraiser that made his own wine. He had about three teeth.
Find a different path in life son.
Never made it but when I went up to the Tennessee vs. Florida game in Knoxville I was suprised how many people tailgating were drinking moonshine, especially younger people... Wasn't terrible...

my best friend's dad used to. i'd stop over, he would say "have a snort of this" He kept it in a dark green glass jug. He would never say what was in it. It always tasted bad, but I wasn't ever going to turn him down. I was a college student at the time, not much extra cash to spend on alcohol, so never turn down the free stuff.
Not a good idea. Maybe not quite as bad, but, on a Federal Level, you might as well grow some marijauna along with it. Punishment probably won't be much more.
Also, be careful. This isn't like making wine, throwing a few things together, watching it ferment and then drinking it. If not done properly, it can be quite hazardous to your health.
Make it out of potato skins. I want to see if someone can actually do it.

If you can make good beer then you have a chance to make good whiskey, so I suggest you start out making beer, at least a couple of batches. If you start with a bad mash (basically the step before beer) you will have bad whiskey. As someone said above if you don't distill properly you could make unsafe alcohol (methanol and such).
