And MacBook Pros have pretty crap video cards compared to equivalent PC offerings.
So pretty much you're paying twice as much for the privilege of running OS X in addition to Windows. There isn't a single thing that you can do on a Mac that you can't do on a PC. And the majority of things you can do better on a PC.
I won't deny that the hardware is of very good quality, but that's really the only advantage it has over a standard laptop - unless you're hell bent on the whole mac lifestyle...
I have the mac for OS X. I really don't want a "standard" laptop. If I had a standard laptop, it would crash and collect an assortment of viruses. :)
Let's agree to disagree. Neither one of us is going to change each others minds and we have probably had this argument before with someone else. So, why waste our time?
One more thing. What VMware software allows you to run OS X on a windows machine? I know a lot of people that would be interested in purchasing that.
It's not quite legal to do, since you need an OS X license to run it, and Apple doesn't sell those separate from their laptops.
Part of my aversion to Apple products is that they are way worse than MS ever was at vendor lock-in and proprietary nonsense.
I bought one of these:
Newegg.com - Acer Aspire one AOA150-1570 Netbook Intel Atom N270(1.60GHz) 8.9" Wide SVGA 1GB Memory DDR2 533 120GB HDD Intel GMA950 - Laptops / Notebooks
Doesn't cost much, and is really tiny. Can't say enough about the portability. My last laptop was a typical 14-inch model, and I grew really tired of lugging that thing around. This one defines 'notebook'. (Actually, 'netbook' is the term used to describe the micro-notebooks like these)
Go to dell's outlet store online. The have refurbished laptops on the cheap.
Dell Factory Outlet
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the size of the keys....are they difficult to type on?
How is the processor speed?
I haven't bought any Acer products before...how is their quality/reliability? Thanks.
I run several of the HP 12.1" tablets. They are a nice balance between being portable and full function full power.
