Samsung Plasma Warranty Issues (Caveat Emptor)
Samsung has the worst warranty service I have ever experienced. My plasma has been in the shop for about a month now, and parts have still not been ordered. The repair shop ordered the parts the day after they received the TV, and again about a week ago when I called Samsung to see what in the world was taking so long.
I have called them four times now, and I get the same story, they blame the service center for not ordering the parts, and make it sound like it is an issue with my service center. Well, guess what, its not my service center, it is Samsung's service center, you know, the one they told me to take it to.
All Samsung has done is make excuses and try to delay. I read elsewhere on the web this seems like their standard warranty tactic, to delay until people give up.
The only phone call I should of had to make was the initial one to set up the warranty claim, and even then I got the runaround, the guy tried to say my set only had a 1 year warranty, when I knew it had a 2 year warranty. That was on September 22.
I realize that no company is perfect, to me it is all about how a company takes care of problems when they arise. Right now Samsung is failing miserably.
Edit: Update: They are submitting a replacement claim. It takes 3 days to process, then they call me to give me "offers" of replacement. Then it takes another 7-14 to receive the new set, IF you accept the offer. So I am another 10-17 days out. I forgot to ask if their "days" are calendar or working days. I'd bet on the latter. Assuming calendar days, that would be 42-49 days without resolution. Assuming working days, it would be 48-57 days.
Samsung will not get anymore of my business.

I have 2 Samsungs and have never had any problems with mine. I did just recently buy a 42" Panasonic Plasma for my basement and the thing is awesome! Picture quality is amazing, and much better for fast motion than LCD. I think I paid around $1399 for it at Best Buy. It was a solid purchase and I am very happy with it.

I would still by Samsung. They make some of the sharpest tvs out there. Sounds like you got a bad round of lazy repair people and miscommunication.

Anyone want to bet whether or not I get their call back in three days? -

Well I have had issues with almost every electronics company out there. Its not just a Samsung issue. Sony has always been my biggest nemesis.

I had a very similar experience with Phillips a couple years back. They basically had my TV for two months, and if it wasn't for my constantly calling to push on both Phillips and the repair center, it would have been even longer!
Not only that, a couple months later the same problem returned. Fortunately I had an extended warranty and at that point they refunded me the purchase price of the set.

I think some of these companies use some shady repair guys. They might not even know they are doing it. And there lies the problem. My Wii went in for repair and it was flawless, but I have sent things into other companies and it takes forever.

They make some good products and the service i have received has been the norm for most "electronics" companies.
They make some solid TVs ...just my two cents

I thought LCDs were better for fast motion than Plasma?
