He'll just give 'em more to make up for it. It is quite funny to think about it, but then again it would suck to do all that spending and then have the money swiped out from under you.

I dont feel sorry for them at all. It was the universitys idea to put that money in the investment. They were proud as could be when that fund was doing good.

Why would he insist on a loan though instead of paying outright?

Actually from what I've read it was Pickens' idea to put it in his hedge fund. Some of the Regents of the University had asked to take it out and put it someplace more safe around a year ago I think it was, but he resisted.

That's the way I understand it too.

Woulda been better off with putting it into a fixed rate savings account EVEN if its a horrible rate.
