The two movies about Iwo Jima, now two more big movies in the same year (Changeling and Gran Torino). And I am sure they are both really good movies. The guy is really amazing. Who would have thought, 30 years ago, that in his 70s he would end up becoming one of the greatest directors of all time?

I hated this movie... Just curious what others thought. The supporting acting was horrible, clint eastwood tried to seem like a bad *** and was unsuccessful. I actually started laughing at a couple of scenes because it was so horrible. It was also completely predictable. I checked on imdb.com and was astonished to see it currently had a rating of 8 something out of 10.

Is it just because Clint Eastwood was in it. I mean people can't possibly think it was a good movie can they?

i was also disappointed. it had its charms, but overall, didn't live up to the hype - or the clint. anybody that thinks this had any oscar potential in any areas is clearly doing it because of eastwood's past record.

I generally can't stand movies that are nominated for film of the year and such, but thought this was actually a decent movie. Was way over the top for ethnic slurs, but was pleasantly surprised by it. I really didn't watch much of the previews for it though, so there wasn't the build up others may have had in excitement.

Ive never seen an Eastwood movie, but this looked ok. I hope more people give their opinion if its worth seeing or not.

I haven't seen this, but isn't it a little weird to see Clint Eastwood on screen and try to think of him as this badass taking on gang members? The guys like 140 isn't he?

I loved it. And in terms of laughing - this movie was WAY funnier than I thought it would be. They've made his character so tough and gruff and out of touch with the real world, that the things he doesn't understand makes it quite funny. Not a whole lot of plot to speak of, but I wasn't ever bored in the movie.

I agree that all the ethnic slurs were a little much and a surprise at first, but def goes a long way towards conveying his character.

Not really anything oscar-worthy, but still worth watching for Eastwood fans. :-)

The movie was great. The supporting actors were terrible. That is all that needs to be said about the movie. That and it is soooo true of many old people in today's world think, and that is what makes the movie so funny
