1. Broke my collarbone in 4th grade when I got ran over by a horse.
2. Tore left ACL and medial meniscus on 2nd day of 8th grade basketball practice... (Hamstring used because of growth plate issue, I didn't grow anyway)
3. Severely pulled quadriceps on first indoor track meet on first 200 m lap of my leg in 1600 m relay, but finished the race... This one was the most painful by far of all my injuries, but healed itself in 2 weeks. Freshman track. (first athletic event back after ACL).
4. Tore right ACL playing racquetball junior year at ISU. I was in PT with Shane Power just before he decided to transfer out. (Patellar tendon used... Fast recovery, but scar tissue still keeps me from kneeling on hard floors). Yeah. For me the absolute worst is when you hit the screw on something. Talk about a nice string of cuss words.....

Re: Worst injury you've had...
Broken fibula. Was sliding into 2B in a softball game and caught a cleat. Thought I just sprained an ankle really bad. After the swelling went down still had some pain so went to a doctor 10 days after I did it to have an x-ray find the break. Still have hardware in the ankle from it that I can get taken out if it ever bothers me but 6+ weeks of crutches suck. I would probably have rather broke an arm after how tired and helpless you feel on crutches.

Re: Worst injury you've had...
8 broken bones in face (Eye, nose, septum, jaw) during head to head collision requiring surgery
Dislocated shoulder/shoulder surgery

Broken arm, hand, collarbone were pretty sore.

Re: Worst injury you've had...
Not as injury plagued as some of you but here's my top 3
3.Broken fingers: teammate was swinging bat not watching where he was going hit me in hand, overall fairly minor
2. Concussion: playing tackle football with friends, someones knee(I think) collides with my head after tackle end up with grade II concussion.
3. Break 5 bones in foot: Was slid over in soccer, had pins put in as bones were way outt've alignment.

Wow! You people are a mess. No wonder my health insurance keeps going up. That's one thing I don't mind paying for and never using.

Re: Worst injury you've had...
My head went through the windshield of a car in which I was a passenger. It peeled my forehead clear back to the top of my head and it looked like my brains were hanging out, according to witnesses.
I also had a large scratch from the corner of my left eye to the bridge of my nose that tore my eyeball out of its socket and it was lying on my cheek when the paramedics arrive on the scene.
Had to have 165 stitches to close the forehead gash, and after they popped it back in my head, eight stitches in the eyeball itself, which lost about a third of its mass and most of its vision.
At the time, I was on record at the Mayo Clinic has having the largest partical removed from an eye and the eye still maintained partial vision. I don't know if that's still in the medical record books or not. They had to take a hunk of glass out of my eyeball.
I also broke a bone in my skull, causing fluid to enter the brain and I was on the critical list for three days, in the hospital for eight altogether.
Some ******* in another car ran a stop sign and we T-boned them at 60 mph.

Re: Worst injury you've had...
Stepped in a gopher hole flying on a downhill stretch in cross country. Tore just about everything in my ankle that there was to tear. Did the same thing in basketball with the other ankle a couple of years later, when I came down on someone else's ankle.
The good news being that afterward I could just walk off sprained ankles in basketball.
The worst injury I ever had probably involved a lawnmower, and missing body parts.

I honestly never wore my seat belt until I think it was Derrick Thomas got in an accident and died because he wasn't wearing his seat belt if I remember correctly.

Re: Worst injury you've had...
Oh forgot about sophomore baseball...pitch was about a 50 foot fastball. I wore my mask really, really lose (STUPID) and it came under the mask and drilled me in the throat. Fell over onto the plate and don't remember what happened until I heard the umpire telling me to stay still and my coach coming and getting on the ground to look at me face to face and asking if I could breath. Got my mask and stuff off in the dugout, the laces of the ball were on my throat, and stayed for about 2 weeks. Later that night at McDonalds, my girlfriend at the time had to order for me because I had no voice for about 5 days.
