Cheap Cell Phones?
Anyone have any good websites that you can order discount phones from? Here's my issue, I nearly killed my Verizon Razr last night, I'm actually amazed it's still working but I don't trust it considering it's got some big cracks where it nearly broke in half and tape is holding the battery sleeve on. Well I am due for a free upgrade in late January which I have have doubts this phone can hold me till then as bad of shape as it's in.
I wouldn't mind just replacing it with an identical razr (it's the silver one, about 2 years old) if I can find one otherwise I'm going to try and work some magic at the Verizon store and use my employer discount as leverage to get a discount on a phone to hold me over or just honor my 2 year renewal early possibly since I'm so close.
So any good sites that I might be able to save some money ordering online possibly?

My phones usually start to get in bad sap near te 2 year mark. With Sprint I have never had a problem calling in and getting the 2 year discount a few months early.
Not sure if it will work wit Verizon, but it is worth a shot to call and ask.

Call Verizon and explain what is going on. Most likely they will reset your account so you can get a new phone sooner then later. Don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor if they are not willing to do it.

Re: Cheap Cell Phones?
If you log on to Verizon's website it should tell you that you can get a discount. However, in the past they wouldn't renew my two year contract the day before it was up. I couldn't believe it. Craigslist is probably your best bet.

Don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor if they are not willing to do it. Had a friend (an older person) who did that once, feeling that the original representative was rude and unhelpful. She kept asking for a supervisor, getting bounced around, then finally got someone who listened sympathetically for quite a while, asked relevant questions, and told her they would immediately send her a new phone, free of charge.
Then he asked casually how she had gotten his number, and she recounted the path she had taken, having (wisely) taken notes, including people's names. At which point he mentioned that he was a VP with Verizon, IIRC of a branch that had absolutely nothing to do with customer service. -
Re: Cheap Cell Phones?
dude, don't resign a contract, buy a nice phone off ebay, pop in your sim chip and away you go, just make sure it's a verizon phone.
I havent been on contract for like 5 years, whenever I want a new phone, I just buy one off ebay and swap out my sim chip.
