Engineers and Architects are both pompous ***** in my experience.

But wow, nothing like stoking the fire on a board with obviously more than a fair share of engineers and architects...it's sort of what we're known for besides Ag at this school :)
I'd venture to say that most architects and engineers have to be a bit demanding and have a "tough" attitude at times because we only: build your roads, make sure your poo is treated (what I did for four years) design your swank office chairs to be ergonomically correct, make sure your house/building/apartment/ doesn't fall down WHILE looking nice...and a whole host of other things like making sure your conduits don't jump out of the walls from being overloaded, configuring computer hardware...etc.
So nothing important
But in all seriousness, hopefully the OP got his questions answered! If you need an engineering point of view, hahaha let me know!

Well, the attitude that I have gotten from arch's and engineers tells me that any education they got before college means that my existence in society is meaningless as a teacher. For any engineer that has had to prepare a presentation can thank their writing teacher, any architect that can draw can thank their art teacher. In my experience, once they graduate, they throw these people under these same people under the bus because they didn't teach them while they were in college to prepare them for thieir careers.

Wow, sorry you feel that way, rest assured I am NOT in the group that feels my education didn't start until grade 13+. I may not have seen eye to eye with all my teachers in school, but I definitely respect teachers.
I definitely don't throw teachers under busses, but I build the bridges for the busses to drive on. I also build Holiday Inn Expresses.
