The local NBC affiliate has added Universal Sports on their HD subchannel 5.3. This network shows a wide variety of olympic-type sports (track, volleyall, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey, gymnastics, cycling, triathalon, etc.), along with the paralympics.
I enjoy a few of those, but mostly I think it's great that stations are starting to add some interesting programming to their HD subchannels, as opposed to just the local weather radar.
Does anybody else have this on in their market, or other interesting programming on HD subchannels?
"Don't worry Boss...they can't do nothin' 'til they're through sparklin'..."
Here in DSM we got an ABC sub for the ISU game the other week. Other than that CBS and NBC have weather on the .2 subs... That's about it.
PBS does have alternate programming on one of their sub channels.
Actually, IPTV/PBS runs three program streams. 11-1 is their (almost) all HD feed. 11-2 is the regular IPTV feed (which happens to simulcast with 11-1 for some programs), and 11-3 is their alternate feed--mostly consisting of cooking and arts & craft shows.
