No more TRL?
I just caught the end of the TRL finale show. I had no idea it was going off the air. I remember many a hung over afternoon laying on the couch on Knapp St in Ames eagerly waiting to see if Backstreet boys or N Sync would be number 1. Good times, good times.....

Re: No more TRL?
Thank god it's gone...honestly, I didn't even know it was still on, or even played music, or full music videos, or even 10 seconds of music videos...Good riddance IMHO. Only when Tom Green made a joke of it by making the Bum Bum Song the best piece of music on it - was it any good.

Re: No more TRL?
Have to say, I watched a lot of TRL when I was in high school. Once I graduated I never watched it again. It wasn't a great show but at least it had music unlike everything else on MTV.

I also remember some hour or half-hour show that would play the top 5 or 10 videos everyday based on callers' votes? I used to watch it just to see Debbie Gibson! I had a major crush! Not on the music...on her!

Re: No more TRL?
Is MTV still around?
I thought it went away about 10 years ago or so.
Daria and Beavis and Butthead were it's peak, and also the beginning of the end for MTV, as I knew it.
I just downloaded 3 hours of unedited MTV from 1983 or 84 (I can't remember which year). It was so amazingly awesome compared to absolute dreck that MTV continuously excretes onto the viewing public these days.
