Bars in St. Louis
Any tips on good bars near the arch downtown?

If you are looking at the river, there are a bunch to the left... lol, not sure the direction.

That would be north of the Arch. There is an area there called The Landing. There are bars and a few restaurants there. I'm actually a limo driver in STL. PM me if you are interested in getting a limo for a night or two while you are there at a great price.

I'm guessing that is the landing... it has a brick road if I remember correctly.

This Landing area sounds good. What are the best bars in that area? The drunken fish sounds good.

If you want a bar scene where people who actually live in STL go, try the 1100-1200 blocks of Washington Ave. It is on the north end of downtown and south west a couple of blocks from the RCS Dome, Convention Complex and Casino. It is walkable from the Arch area in good weather, but you may want a $5 cab ride or hotel shuttle to get there if it's cool out. Washington Ave is STL's SoHo district of revitalized lofts, shops, bars and restaurants. You will find Wasabi Sushi (outstanding sushi), Flannery's Irish Pub, Side Bar (upscales law themed bar w/ HD's and live music, Flamingo Bowl (Bar and bowling alley punk/Vegas style. It is more bar than bowling alley), and Hair of the Dog. There are more spots on side streets in the area as well. Trust me. Avoid the Landing and go to Wash Ave.

"The Big Bang" on The Landing is a very entertaining dueling piano bar if you like that stuff......
