Web browser replacements for Windows Mobile
The version of IE shipping with Windows Mobile has rather limited capability. I was holding out for the new WM 6.1 browser based on IE 6 (dubbed "6 on 6") later this year, but a recent announcement from MS suggests that this browser will only ship on new equipment, and updates will not be released for existing users.
Has anybody found a good (preferably free ) replacement browser for WM 6? I've tried Opera Mini. It works good for awhile, but usually locks up after a few minutes of use.
Anyone blabbering about switching to an iPhone will get negative rep...oh, wait...

What kind of phone do you use? Here is what I use on my Touch.
For text / message board basic stuff - Opera Mini
Video Streaming - Skyfire
More advanced browsing - Opera Mobile

Skyfire or opera are really the only two I'm aware of.
Pretty much every mobile web browser (aside from the google phone, iPhone and some of the nokia ones) are garbage for browsing the "real" web.
Fennec is working on making it' sbrowser mobile, and it's pretty good, but I don't know that it's available (yet) for WM devices.

More advanced browsing - Opera Mobile I gave SkyFire a try...Not bad, but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out the zooming functions. Works great for YouTube!

I've been wondering this as well. Any suggestions for the US Cellular version of the Moto Q 9c?

There isn't one browser out there right now that is really good for everything. Again, for me, if you are just surfing the web and 'reading' stuff it is Opera Mini by a long shot. If it is crashing for you try a different Java emulator.
You might want to try Opera Mobile (not to be confused with Opera Mini). It seems to work better for more advanced stuff.
Skyfire is definitely not the best for basic browsing, all I use it for is streaming. I actually watched some of the NCAA tourney on it last year.
You may want to try one of the custom ROM's on PPCgeeks. I loaded one of them on my touch and have been extremely happy with it. The one I chose came pre-loaded with Opera Mini, Opera Mobile, Skyfie, PIE, and about any other software I could want.

Is your Mogul GPS enabled? If not, you can unlock it tohave true GPS with one of the custom ROMS on ppcgeeks.

I am a huge nerd when it comes to windows mobile. If want any other software recomendations let me know. I've got the latest "official" ROM from Sprint/HTC, which is GPS enabled for the Mogul.
I would be interested in where to get a different/better Java emulator.
I've got a bunch of apps, but to this point I've been apprehensive about trying custom ROMS. However, I don't think Sprint is going to release any more ROM updates for the Mogul, so I may end up trying a custom ROM at some point to get new features.

If you have GPS enabled, there is a great free turn by turn GPS program called 'Amaze GPS'. I strongly suggest it. It will make your phone just as good as any store bought GPS and do it for free.
I use Esmertec JBed. What emulator are you using?

Re: Web browser replacements for Windows Mobile
I have a mogul as well. But I didn't like the update when it came out. It took off the roaming only option(which I need to use often) and it also took away my free teathering. I have never been able to get opera to work w/o freezing.
Is there a custom rom that will give me the roaming only and teathering back with the updated windows?

Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta. It's the closest thing to Safari on the iPhone.
