I use slickdeals.com and fatwallet.com all the time. Every once and awhile great TV deals come along.
My personal expample, 2 years ago... my panasonic 52" plasma was retaling on sale for about $1700 at sears, $1900 at best buy. I bought it at Amazon.com for about $900 to my door (free shipping, no tax, free $50 wall mount).
If you have a scrutinizing eye, you can really find some good deals on electronic items on the internet all the time, at least in my experience

Re: Black Friday
Thanks for the input. I don't mind spending around $700-800 for a TV but the fiance is another story and she's paying for 1/2 of it so she gets a say in this decision. Just saw the deal and wondered what I could find out. My brother bought a 32" Polaroid LCD nearly a year ago and says he's had no problems and the picture is great so hard to tell what to think about that brand. Think we are going to go look around some tonight in advance and see what we find. We figured between Thanksgiving and Christmas there hopefully will be some sales going on and we'll find a good deal on a TV.
Here's another question, how much do you think a 32" Sony Flat Tube TV that is probably about 3 years old worth? The whole point of getting a new TV is that my 4 year old Sanyo 32" Flat Tube HDTV upstairs has been a little flakey at times with the picture so that one will go downstairs where the Sony is at now and we'll sell the Sony. I'd like to think we could get $200 for the Sony and then I can sell the idea to her that she's only paying about $300 or less for her half of the TV after we sell that one. Size of a TV is another issue too, I'd like a 40 or 42", I think she'd be fine with just a 32 or possibly 37". The prices are really no more than about $100 apart for most brands for those sizes from what I've seen so I'd rather spend the extra $ on something bigger.

Re: Black Friday
I would avoid the Polariod brand for TVs. From what I have seen they do not hold a candle to even Vizio's.

Re: Black Friday
Just a data point...
I have a 50" plasma. I've been over at friends' houses who have relatively new large LCDs (Samsung, Panasonic, and Vizio). These are supposed to be higher end sets according to the owners.
One thing that drives me nuts about these sets is the terrible representation of human (Caucasian in particular) skin, at viewing distance. The people look like mannequins. There is practically no definition of skin features (lines, variation of skin color, etc). It looks creepy. I was over at a watch party for TT/OU this weekend, and the shots of Musberger/Herbstreit were really bad (this was the Panasonic). I wanted to grab the remote and get into setup mode to see if there was something I could do to fix the problem (which would have probably been rude). I've noticed the same thing in stores too.
I have a 17" LCD at my PC and my laptop display is LCD, and I don't notice this problem, but it might be because I'm usually up close when viewing those.
Maybe these people just have their LCDs adjusted improperly, but it's been 3 out of 3 so far. Given what I've seen up to this point, I would NEVER trade my big plasma for an LCD.

Can't say I've ever had those kinds of problems with my 42" Samsung LCD, but then again, what looks normal to the rest of us might look like a mannequin to you...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: Black Friday
Anybody seen any ads for PS3s? Is anyone having a deal on black Friday? I hate this day, but I really want a cheap PS3.

No Musberger actually looks like that...
I have an LCD and I often can't adjust the settings to get the picture to look the way I want, depending on the video feed. I've been thinking of a big plasma, but I'm thinking to wait until the after Christmas sales.
