The best story is how she met my dad. She was taking tickets at a high school basketball game - and she was the one using the ink stamp on people's hands to show they paid. My dad wouldn't give her his hand and kept pointing at his forehead - so she stamped his forehead. You got the short version, but the full version is quite hilarious and very illiminating about both of my parents.

On my list:
To spend time with family (really don't do that enough)
Hope my brother finds a place to live (lost everything in Ike)
Hope my students succeed in their final year of school as 8th graders before moving on to HS.
And for me - just some time to relax and enjoy the time of the holidays

A Spirit Boulevard (or any other locally owned Beer & Wine store) gift certificate is always nice.

Re: What's on your Christmas List?
My mom and grandma just asked last night. My first thoughts:
New microwave (ours broke 3 months ago)
Complete set of workout clothes
Certificates for any: bookstore, clothing, or resturant
My husband has no idea what he wants though.

They asked and I told them a winning season for the FB team. My dad said, maybe he's right. You can have it Fast, Cheap, Reliable.....Please pick TWO! -
Re: What's on your Christmas List?
1) A new job
2) More I-State gear
3) For the Cubs to go to the World Series and for the Clones to go to a Bowl game.

All three of those would be fun! The Cubs part would make me cry all night long, but I'm willing to deal with that! -

Some restoration of sanity after a very tough 2008? Maybe. It's been a very humbling year.
