Christmas Lights On Your House?
Just got mine put up today.
Who else gets the ladder out and hangs lights?

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
Saw a new thing this year, some pole that helps you attach lights. Excludes the need for a ladder.

I suppose there are a few who just leave 'em up year round.
Present company excluded, of course.

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
I do, might put them up this weekend. I refuse to get the Christmas stuff out until after Thanksgiving. When I bought my house there was a home made Santa Sled in the garage so I bought a lighted Santa and 2 lighted reindeer and put that in my lawn as well as lights on the bushes and lights hanging off the gutters. Got a neighbor down the street that has quite the display every year that he already has up. Bet it takes a lot of hours to put up and tear down because you can see it all several blocks away.

I risk my life on the roof each year all for exterior lighting.

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
If you do put up lights, do you prefer solid colors or multi-colors?

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
I used to be one of those guys that had decorations everywhere. Santa and his reindeer flying off my roof, lights everywhere, etc. Not Griswold and not like some of the places in town, but highly decorated.
I'm too old and lazy now. About a week before Christmas I regret it, but the week after - when I don't have to take everything down - I don't regret it at all.

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
Hmmm I grew up multi-colored but there is something elegant about solid white
On my christmas tree I use Red and Gold lights (for obvious reasons) though I'm considering a switch to blue and white/silver...
I bought some blue and frosted white icicles last year that I really like

Multi-colored and blinking. Some say it's tachy, but wathcing the ebb and flow of colors and light is hypnotic.

I like the way the white lights look. However, I do like the new colored LED lights. Maybe we will buy some after Christmas, when they discount them.

Re: Christmas Lights On Your House?
I prefer the solids or 2-tone set ups. But I must say that the LED multi's look much, much nicer than the ones I remembered having on our house as a kid.
Then again, that was back in the 1900's.
