Need advice on selling a car w/damage.
Have a friend with 98 Bonneville which hit a pole head on. Car is in great shape other than the front end damage. He cannot afford to repair it. Is his only option sell the car for salvage for a few hundred or is there any websites to advertise it for parts possibly getting more for it?
Thanks in advance

I would have him start by listing it on craigslist.

Put in paper that states
"Have '98 Bonneville with lots of custom body work"

When I saw this thread I thought it was going to be stated by Travman :biglaugh:
Re: Need advice on selling a car w/damage.
I had a 2002 Malibu with lots of front end damage (hit a deer). Took it to Karl in Ankeny, and there was a guy there who I think basically would buy high-mileage trade-ins. He gave me around $1100 for the car, and I pocketed the insurance money.
Anybody in the car biz know how the OP could get ahold of someone who does this? I guess I was just lucky that the guy was there, unless this sort of thing is routine.
Re: Need advice on selling a car w/damage.
You can sell it for more then a couple hundred as long as he didn't hit the pole head on hard enough so he has the 3800 V6 engine as his new center console inside the car.
If he hit it so the damage is limited too the front end and possibly radiator then he could get a decent fix it price. If the engine has been pushed back or the transmission/drive train has been damaged, then it might be a parts car.
Good luck
