Historic Cases: OJ - Did he do it?
In light of the recent OJ verdict, may be "fun" to look back on the murder case - vote and discuss.
Perhaps we can do this weekly, I'll fire up another one next week - a famous debated trial or a historic event that still has uncertainty (Kennedy, etc).
Anyways - the OJ murder trial - did he really do it?

If you write a book called "If I did it...." then you probably did.
I have never been motivated to write a book about myself personally committing a crime I didn't do.
I don't drink the Kool-Aid, and I am done making excuses. Only keeping it real... -

Yes, for the murder case
No, for the armed robbery case
Somehow the legal system ended up getting it backwards.

Yeah his lawyers had it right when they said it was impossible for him to get a fair trail this time around
That said, maybe it makes up for the trial he had last time with the super expensive lawyer.
My question now is... what's that girl's father going to do now that OJ is in jail and he can't harass him all the time?

Re: Historic Cases: OJ - Did he do it?
Although I voted that he committed murder, the irony of finding this thread while I took a break from studying for my Criminal Law final is too much. Honestly, there is an argument that he may have committed voluntary manslaughter, which isn't technically murder, although it is homicide. Under the Model Penal Code (which is sort of a legal guideline for legislatures that a bunch of Crim Law professors dreamt up, and isn't really a binding authority at all), if someone commits homicide while suffering from "extreme emotional distress", it would be considered manslaughter. Given the state of his personal life, it's actually pretty feasible that an argument could be made for this. But to make a long story short, he still killed her.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

If anyone has ever watched "My Name is Earl," I think Karma had a little something to do with what happened to Mr. OJ. ~Go Cyclones! ~Only you can make it happen.

I'd be willing to lay down all of my credits says he did it.

Re: Historic Cases: OJ - Did he do it?
Ok he may have done it, but this ***** still pisses me off
"If our efforts for all these years of pushing him drove him to commit armed robbery in Vegas, great!" Fred Goldman told reporters after the hearing.

Re: Historic Cases: OJ - Did he do it?
I am the dissenting view (sort of). Since 1994, I never though that he physically did it, but may have hired it done or hired to have the two roughed up and it ended up getting out of hand (so he is still guilty). Somehow the Mexican, Colombian, or Central American drug cartel is involved.

Re: Historic Cases: OJ - Did he do it?
a jury of his peers said he didn't do it, if people feel other wise, blame the prosecution for not doing their job.
