I "get" the whole rum is good pirate thing, but yesterday, I received a belated Christmas/Birthday present of Rhum Barbancourt Reserve Speciale from my BIL. Now, this dude has always been a good guy in my book. He rescued my SIL from a complete jerk husband, likes guns and has a PhD in Medical EE.
But this gift is phenomenal. 8 year aged Haitian Rum as smooth as a supermodel's bottom, and delightfully buttery with nothing like a bite at the end. I am currently sitting at our kitchen table, surfing the web, and getting quietly drunk drinking this ambrosia.
I deserve it, after all. I've been a VERY good boy this winter, and I didn't lay a hand on that gorgeous female social scientist I escorted around post for that week in November. Now the keys on my keyboard are not cooperating with my fingers.
