Re: Baby Gift
I got my wife a 60 min massage instead of flowers for the birth of the baby. She had a to wait a few weeks but man she enjoyed it much more than flowers.

Re: Baby Gift
I went to one of those bath stores and got my wife a basket with a bunch of soaps and creams. The help melted when I told them why I wanted to get the gift.
My wife loved it...

2 kids, 0 gifts.
I had never heard of a push present until after our first was born, someone asked my wife what I got her and she didn't know why I would get her anything.
I took a little grief for not getting her anything after our second, but only in a joking way.

Re: Baby Gift
This is stupid, I recommend busting your *** helping your wife as much as possible. This includes cooking, cleaning, poopy diaper duty, late night duty, basically you need to become a housekeeper/nanny 24/7 and that is the best gift you could ever give.

Has anyone heard of this? If so what are some examples? I thought this might just be some jewelers idea to drum up sales but I want to be sure. I've never heard of it, and I have 4 kids... but every year it seems people find new ways to leverage gifts from others. You might as well play along and just grin and bear it.
How about asking her about it?
I would recommend an all day spa treatment she can use it to get away sometime well after the baby is born. You stay home with the kid and she spends the day pampering herself.... ped, man, hair, massage, makeup.... it will set you back $300-400, but she'll love it.

Give your wife the reciept and see if she appreciates your logical side -

Give your wife the reciept and see if she appreciates your logical side That is a much better gift. Except you need a SS number to start a 529, so that won't work yet.
