Anyone else using a 22" monitor? I got a question. I upgraded from a 19" flat CRT to a Samsung LCD TV with a pc input. So far I don't know if I'm happy.
- Fonts are crazy big.
- Everything is stretched in a weird widened fashion.
- Sharpness seems less than old monitor.
1. Is this because I'm using a LCD TV and not a "true" computer monitor?
2. Or is the larger screen and better resolution just exposing my crappy graphics card. (much like watching a vhs tape on a HD tv)
I'm running 1280 x 1024. But you got me thinking. That's a resolution for non wide monitor.
I don't see anything higher though. Driver issue?
Or video card issue. I have a Samsung T200HD (probably the next size smaller than your monitor) and I don't have any problems with it. My resolution is 1680x1050 and everything looks great. If you can't set the video to a widescreen setting, then I would update your video card driver, or, as a last resort, buy a new video card.
You don't have the resolution set to the native resolution. It should be in your docs, or do a quick search on the LCD model to see what the native resolution is.
My 22' widescreen is also set to 1680x1050. You should set the Windows resolution setting to the monitor's native resolution (check the box) and go from there (DPI settings, browser text size, font size, etc).
Where do I set the Native resolution? I don't know if I've ever seen that on this pc.
The manual says 1680 x 1050 is max. Just can't get that in settings on pc.
