My dad raised my sisters and I on the importance of keeping sound financial records. I honestly do try my hardest, but I can never get my checkbook and my bank statements to line up with each other. I generally don't have time to do bookkeeping very often, so receipts pile up for weeks (or sometimes months) before I write them in and try and do the math, and it just doesn't work well. I also buy lots of stuff online, so I don't have physical receipts for those, and forget about them.
This hasn't worked for five years now, and I need to try something else. I'm hoping some of you can suggest good personal finance software that's out there. Free is preferred, but I'm fine with paid software, too. Help me figure out what's good and what's bad. Thanks!

I have used Microsoft Money since about 2000 and really like it. Switched to Quicken 2008 for a while this last year but couldn't download transactions from my bank so went back to Money 2008. It still takes the effort of typing them in but even if you do it once a week you should be able to stay on top of it.
