Computer issues---need help!!

My laptop screen goes blank at times and I can't get it to come back. I have to reset it via the power button and then it never comes back on.

If I let it sit for awhile and deplete all of the memory by removing the battery and pressing the power button....it might come back on 1 out of 10 times.

Any ideas? Do you think it is the video card?

Any help is much appreciated.

I would guess either the video card or motherboard. Here are a couple possible solutions:

Laptop Screen Dim, Blank Or Black - Notebook LCD Display Monitor Problem

LAPTOP SCREEN IS BLANK WHEN IT IS SWITCHED ON

You might have to take it somewhere.

if you look really closely at the screen do you see a dim image at all?

If it is intermittent like you say I would guess it could be a cable coming lose. Or perhaps breaking.

I had a laptop that did that, the inverter was bad. I picked up one on ebay, and it worked for another 6 months after that. Went out again and I decided to part out the laptop and sell the parts on eBay. It was a good time.

On mine, you could just barely see the image in the background, it just wasn't lit up. It was a pretty cheap and easy fix. (that didn't work for very long)
