Re: Funny article about some bad cars that won awards
Those are bad but at least they thought out of the box. I get a lot of car magazines and you may as well just award the BMW 3 series every award available. It's a great car but it's almost like they ignore the price.

Moral of the story is: Never buy a car only based on reveiws from Magazines.
Sorry! I did not read the link. I just had my mind made up that both the Pacer and Gremlin were 1 & 2. I'm not sure anyone can argue that although I do give the Vega a close third!

How does your old Chevette measure up against those cars?
Re: Funny article about some bad cars that won awards
I was the proud owner of two different Vegas. Actually, I never had a problem with either. But--you did not dare drive over 60 mph, run the AC, or stop without pouring in more oil. They were prone to overheating and the engines would seize when they did. You did not have to ever check the oil. When the temperature gauge started rising, you stopped and filled with oil. Usually, that was about every 90 miles. I carried a five gallon can of Co-op oil in the back so I would never be without. I do not remember the exact numbers, just that they were very fuel efficient. Being just out of college and dirt poor, they were the one late model GM product that I could afford.

I had a 1988 Dodge Omni as my first college car. It actually ran well and required very little mainteance. I had a bad oxygen sensor that was screwing things up. The only bad thing was it was rusting on both sides at the bottom of the front doors.
