    Computer Antivirus Software

    I currently have McAfee on my computer and it bogs the entire thing down so much that I would like to get rid of it.

    Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap/free virus software?

    AVG or Avast will work just fine, and are totally free.

    I've never tried Avast but I have had good luck with AVG. Doesn't seem to eat up resources like the other "big name" anti-virus apps.

    I have used both AVG and Avast!...and for some reason I prefer Avast. I hardly notice Avast! while AVG seemed to slow my computer down. I have been more than satisfied with Avast!. Go to download.com and you can get either one.

    Comodo makes excellent stuff, and they also have free AV. I haven't used it, but they have a great free firewall, and I use their registry cleaner often.
