Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
All types of people play video games, it's not just a certain group of people like it seemed more to be 10-15 years ago. The video game industry is a pretty huge and growing business today.
As for the story: another situation where someone should have taken a page out of Dwight's playbook by stopping and asking "Would an idiot do this?" and if the answer is yes, don't do it. This guy did not do that, hopefully he gets whats coming. Rule #1 you don't beat women: unless you are a hawkeye and/or named pierre pierce I guess.

Like I said, you have no clue as to who I am... You get frustrated when you have to do your job? Yes, when you have children taking care of them is your job. It doesn't mean you can't have other interests, but it does mean they should be your number one priority.
If I'm in the middle of something, and I have to stop to take care of my 18-month old son, so be it. It doesn't bother me because that's what parents do. If he wakes up screaming at 2 am and I am dead asleep, then I go check on him to make sure he is okay. Am I upset or frustated? Nope, because I love being a dad and understand the responsibility that goes with it.
The moment you become a parent you have to re-prioritize your life and examine what is really important. The computer and anything on it doesn't come anywhere near my top 50.

Like I said, you have no clue as to who I am... Just said it gave me an insight. I could give two ***** who you are, just feel sorry for your kid growing up if this is the priority level.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers -

On to reasons as to why?
Frustration from lack of "relations" last night maybe?
Cyclone men's bball?
Girlfriend walked in front of TV during video games?
I don't know, but maybe we should all just beat each other up.

Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
I'm not even sure how this happened in the first place? His girlfriend walked in front of the screen? Did he move the TV into the kitchen for some reason?

The moment you become a parent you have to re-prioritize your life and examine what is really important. The computer and anything on it doesn't come anywhere near my top 50. Frustrated? Yes. Do I take care of it? Yes. And don't tell me you didn't get frustrated when your child cries for more than half an hour straight and you've done everything you can think of to calm your child and it hasn't worked. And if you haven't, then I'm glad your life is filled with unicorns and roses.
As for those of us living in the real world, as my chiro told me (he just adopted twins), "I can understand how the uneducated can get themselves in trouble when they can't get their children to quiet down." (as in referring to shaking the baby)
As for the original post I posted, most of it was sarcastic hyperbole and I'm sorry I didn't post the little with it. Have my priorities changed in the last month? Absolutely. Have I made the perfect transition? Not even close. Do I still need to decompress when I get home from work? Yes. Do I put my computer down when I need to take care of my daughter? 95% of the time, and the 5% of the time I don't I make sure my wife has it covered.
Excuse me if I don't like coming to this site and I'm being told I'm a ****-poor father. I can't imagine anyone would like to be told that. My wife would absolutely disagree with you, as she thinks I'm a wonderful father. So excuse me if I value her opinion of me much more than I value yours...

Do you have something worthwhile to add to this thread or not? I don't claim to be the world's greatest dad. I just don't understand the other party's perspective. I guess everyone has there own thing.
