DM man beats girlfriend over video game
It started with a video game; Des Moines man arrested | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register
'"Proctor said she became frustrated with Pettinger as he would not stop playing video games. Proctor said she stood in front of Pettinger, blocking his view of the screen. At that point Pettinger's video game character died and he became very angry.""
Girlfriends are the reason they have a pause button, loser.

You make an excellent point. If he was on a kill streak in COD, and was one away from releasing the dogs, then this story takes on an entirely different light:pwink:
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
reminds me of that joke about the girl with two black eyes....
fyi, for the morality police out there, I don't condone beating your woman. Shaking her...maybe. But not beating her.:jimlad:
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
She'll get the back of my hand if she steps in front of my Grand Theft Auto gaming addiction.
note: redrocker does not recommend beating women over stupid video game.
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
I can see where the guy's coming from, though. I'll be playing Guild Wars and in the middle of a mission my wife will ask me to check in on our crying daughter to see if she's ok/change her diaper. If I'm just doing quests, not a big deal as I can quit out of those anytime I want. If I'm doing missions, that's another story as I'm usually playing with others online and it is highly frowned upon to leave teammates in a lurch. That being said, I'm usually able to prevent myself from smacking my wife around when she interrupts me in the middle of a game.
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
Reminds me of my former roommates
(no he didn't hit her, but his video game playing certainly annoyed her)
Also reminds me of a funny YouTube video (well audio)... I don't have the link here and it's probably not appropriate for the site... but a girl calls her boyfriend up wanting to uh, do things... but he's too busy playing Counter Strike. Offers to let her ride in the Roflcopter... she gets really mad, etc. Ammusing in a sad way

What is this "not appropriate" concept you talk about? Never heard of it.
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
More imporantly... I don't have the link here at work

This explains so much.

??? That I have interests outside of a sports message board? And what do you do with your spare time?
Re: DM man beats girlfriend over video game
Reading the comments below the story, they seem to echo what I was about to post, that now he might be playing some prison games of his own.

Just gave me an insight into the type of person you are.

If you base your opinion of who I am on the fact that I like playing a particular video game and the fact that we don't see eye-to-eye on a basketball coach then you have no clue as to the type of person I am...

I know you're the type of guy who gets mad when he has to leave a "mission" to go check on his daughter.
