Fox is saying 49 deaths. I don't know if they really know, though. The plane hit a house -- they don't know if anyone was inside, right?

The flight was Newark to Buffalo. You would think that would be an hour -- tops.

The deaths have not yet been confirmed, but it would be a miracle if anyone survived this. Lets just hope that the house the plane crashed into was not occupied. It's been years since anyone has been killed due to a commercial airline crash.

What I don't understand is that the flight reportedly went down at 10:10pm ET ... yet it took close to 2 1/2 hours for this to hit the wires and the news channels.

Man, I have to fly Houston - Buffalo on Continental in about two weeks.

Last month I flew Continental Denver to Houston 1 week after the Cont jet skidded off the Denver runway en route to Houston.

This is getting eerie.

Some snow/weather in the area...perhaps an icing issue?

Although, when is the last time there has been major problems with icing and commercial planes.

The plane went down around 10:15 E.T. I found out about it via twitter and turned on cnn at 11.

That didn't make sense... Crash aroudn 10:15 E.T. I found out through twitter and turned to cnn around 11:30...studying is getting to me.

I believe that winds and icing will be the causes. I just listened to the tape tape from Buffalo tower around the time that it went down. It suddenly disappeared off of the radar without any may day calls. All flights at the time reported icing and imc (instrument meteorological conditions).

Sad night for all, I would never stop flying though. Those involved have my thoughts and prayers.
