#3 Linn-Mar at #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy

I know Johnston isn't anywhere near as good as CR Kennedy, but at last report Ames was up 40 vs. Johnston tonight. My goodness are those two teams good!

I just got back from the Ames game, we left early because my son was tired, but Ames played an average to above average game and was still winning by 23 at the half. Everyone focuses on Barnes but there are a number of good kids on that team that can beat you. Pritchard is one hell of a player in his own right. Definitely a fun team to watch. Johnsont played pretty good defense in the first half, not giving up many fast break points, but they just couldn't hang.

Also, Kennedy's big rival is Xavier (Battle on 42nd Street) and Linn-Mar's is Jefferson.

City High has gotten their act together since blowing the 20+ point first half lead against Linn Mar several weeks back. They've taken the ball from A.J. Derby's hands and installed him in the high post where he's a very strong offensive rebounder. The offense is running inside out, with 6'8 Malcolm Moore finally getting touches. Color me stupid, but City can make some noise if they stay disciplined and Moore can stay out of foul trouble! I wouldn't count them out for a return to state and I'm sure they'd like another shot at Linn-Mar!
