All that town is is a bunch of preppies I'm sure theres just a small amount of hyperbole in there, but you could find a lot of places worse to live than W. Des Moines. Sure there are a lot of cookie cutter type neighborhoods with a Land Rover or Mercedes in the driveway, but there are also a lot of older, more established neighborhoods, like where I live. Good schools, good roads, low crime rate.

Originally Posted by cyclonefreak77 West Des Moines sucks. Valley sucks, Dowling sucks. All that town is is a bunch of preppies I'm sure there is some sarcasm there....but why do people think WDM is all money? Plenty of areas that are just plain middle class. Valley Junction?

You can drive by Valley High School and and see any number of nice, new cars in the parking lot. Glen Oaks, West Glen - hell, pretty everything on Mills of 50th St. Valley Stadium really blows away people that haven't seen it before, especially compared to old Tiger Stadium 9 (and what sits in that spot now). Getting the new Aviva HQ built (when it could have gone downtown) and the new Microsoft data center, whenever it gets done, will just add fuel to the fire.
