    Hard drive question

I had to have a new hard drive installed on my computer today. I was wondering what the easiest way to make sure that all the information is actually deleted from the old one. Secondly, can I just throw the old one away, or is there something better to do with it?

Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe

Download the ISO and burn it to a CD.

Boot to the CD and wipe the drive.

As far as throwing it away, try to find an e waste center or something equivalent. That thing will sit in a dump until the sun burns out

Drill several holes in the hard drive while it is still in one piece.

    Re: Hard drive question

Also if you do the DBAN or killdisk people suggest running it 3 or more times over to completely remove the data.
