You can protect our borders!
Are you ever sitting at home bored wanting something to do? Now you can protect Americas border by watching border cameras and reporting suspicious activity. Go to the website BlueServo and sign up. The site is maintained by the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition.
"The TBSC BlueServoSM Virtual Community WatchSM is a FREE service consisting of a network of cameras and sensors along the Texas-Mexico border. This network feeds live streaming video FREE-OF-CHARGE to the user's computer, which they can access by creating a FREE account at www.BlueServo.net. Users will log in to the BlueServoSM website and directly monitor suspicious criminal activity along the border via this virtual fenceSM.
The Public, acting as Virtual Texas DeputiesSM, is limited to reporting suspicious activities via email. Local county Sheriffs will respond to these reports, conduct all investigations, and take appropriate actions. This service will provide millions of dollars in benefits to local border Sheriffs, with the public acting as additional pairs of eyes for Deputies on the ground. This extra surveillance will allow the public to directly participate in reducing crime and improving their communities. It is a well-established fact that citizen involvement in community watch programs such as this one reduces crime."

Re: You can protect our borders!
Interesting concept. I wonder if there is anywhere near enough manpower to respond if a lot of people start watching? It's still a good start and a fresh idea.
Re: You can protect our borders!
I've always said, what this country needs to control illegal immigration is a bunch of untrained people sitting on their butts watching webcams.

Haha yeah exactly. Can't think of a less exciting way to spend a day.
I would probably watch it the same way I watch Police Chase shows... I always root for the suspect to escape the police, I always root for the underdog!
Re: You can protect our borders!
If they can give us remote control of a machine gun turret, consider me in.
Re: You can protect our borders!
How in the heck will they be able to respond to all threats, credible or not.
Possible scenario:
Hey cops, I just saw about 289 dudes crossing just south of El Paso.
/Calls drug lords/
Yep, cops are headed to El Paso. You're good to go.

Excellent point. Not to mention, they can surely create their own network to find and disable, or simply avoid the cameras.

Yes! I'm quite sure that the scrutiny of the cameras drove them to it!:pwink:
Re: You can protect our borders!
With the shape of our economy now, we might see them heading back to Mexico.

Or you could spend time with the elderly, volunteer to pick up trash, mentor a young single parented child, read a book, raise money for cancer research, or any number of truly community/society enhancing activities that would actually benefit the greater good.
I mean after you get done watching NASCAR on Sunday, of course that might cut into your time sleeping in the lazy-boy.
What's wrong with what a majority of what illegals do anyway? Is it not the American way to outsource as many jobs as possible to the cheapest labor source possible. If our country put as much effort and pride into our services & manufacturing sectors as they do complaining about others taking the low paying jobs they deem beneath them we might not have such problems.
I digress, please read LORD OF THE BARNYARD: THE FATTENING OF THE CALF & ARMING THE AWARE IN THE CORNBELT by Tristan Egolf or Dr Suess's GREEN EGGS & HAM whichever is of your liking.
Re: You can protect our borders!
I wonder how many bad leads they will follow up on before they pull the plug?

Gather around and watch closely children, because I am about to magically transport this thread to the cave:wink:.
I have no problem with the non-bolded part, other than the condescending nature of it. As far as the bolded part, illegal means illegal. And the job market will pay the wages that the market bears. On top of breaking the laws of our country to come here, they drive down wages to a level that is below a living wage, thereby making themselves a permanent underclass that burdens our welfare structure that was set up by the same people who put out the welcome mat for illegal aliens. I won't give a free pass to the companies that hire them either. But enforcement of the law is one of the few responsibilities that our government actually has.
