and it looks like the San Francisco Chronicle could also go belly up by the end of the year. Makes when you wonder when smaller papers like the Register and Gazette are going to close up shop.
Personally, I don't think it will be too long before the Register stops printing a Monday edition.

Fortunately the Gazette "gets" it and should be around for awhile. I would not be surprised to see them be the flagship paper of the state within the next two years.
I wouldn't mind if the Register stopped printing all together....

The Gazette and KCRG are restructuring and are cutting 100 jobs. Not sure they are all that stable right now. I can't stand the Gazette and do not know that many CR people who even subscribe to it. (My personal dislike of the CRG extends way beyond the fact that I confuse them with the UofI SID office)!
That is sad news about the RMNs...it is a sign of the times but it is still sad. Think of how different Denver and CO were when it first published the news!

They'll be fine with what they have planned. With some of the restructuring they are going through some of the jobs were rendered obsolete and would have been eliminated regardless of economic/newspaper industry issues.

Are you sure about that? I have some friends that work over there and they are cutting 100 jobs as we speak.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.
