Housing costs a lot less than cars
At least that is the case in Detroit. According to the Chicago Tribune, the median price for a home sold in the month of December 2008 in Motor City is Seven Thousand, Five Hundred dollars

It's going to take a miracle to ever turn that city around. Who in their right mind would move there right now?

Is anyone employed in Michigan anymore? Maybe they should become a right to work state and try to lure Honda and Toyota into detroit to build cars.

Re: Housing costs a lot less than cars
I think that's because if you live in Detroit, you want to be mobile.

Re: Housing costs a lot less than cars
house prices in detroit will hit bottom when the last person moves out.

i remember a bridge in Detroit.
They meant to put up a sign on a bridge entering the city that said
"Detroit, A great place to live!"
Instead the put up a sign that said "Detroit, A place to live!"

No, but that would have been even funnier.

Unions have their place. That place is roughly in the early 20th century.

Re: Housing costs a lot less than cars
So, Detroit has been going downhill since about, well, 1960-something. How is the final plunge a surprise to anyone?
It's kiund of like the depopulation of NW Iowa. Frankly, I care more about that than about Detroit, and I shed very few tears for the place I'm from, and still like a lot.
Living in a dream world doesn't really benefit anyone.
